Playstation 3- Backwards compatible?
Hey, I know this is random, but that is why I am posting here ^^. I was wondering, is the Playstation 3 backwards compatible? Ive heard it is from some and it isnt from others, kind of confused. I just bought PS3 and I just picked up Final Fantasy XII on PS2. Since I didn't have a PS2 when it came out I thought I'd play it on the PS3. Wondering if it will work b4 I open it, store wont let me return it just because I was stupid :S

I know it makes very little sense, but the $500 system has a program on it that will allow it to play most ps1 and ps2 titles, but they don't install that program on the $400 system (or even let you download it).

I dunno, what they told me at the store was that the 60 can play old games, but the 40 and 80GB ones couldn't at the time I bought mine. I know the 60GB ones can, because mine does.

since it plugs into the HDMI port on your TV (well, if you aren't looking at garbage resolution anyway), why not just keep your PS2 plugged into the AV ports?

I tried playing FFXII on it and can't because of the controller. It says that I need the dual shock analog controller but there's no place to plug it in.
